ASFE brings together leading automotive and fuel supply companies who share a commitment to contributing to reducing the environmental impact of road transport through the promotion of cleaner fuels. ASFE members believe that paraffinic fuels have a key role to play in meeting this objective.
ASFE members are:
Neste is a refining and marketing company, with a production focus on premium-quality, lower-emission traffic fuels. The company produces a comprehensive range of major petroleum products and is the world's leading supplier of renewable diesel.
Neste produces and markets premium-quality NExBTL renewable diesel (HVO), the most advanced diesel fuel on the market today.
HVO is based on Neste's proprietary technology and all raw materials used in its production are produced sustainably. Neste also employs very detailed sustainability criteria when selecting its renewable raw material suppliers.
Neste's HVO performs more efficiently and has a lower level of environmental impact compared to fossil diesel or FAME-type biodiesel. HVO can be blended with fossil diesel or used as such, and it is fully compatible with existing diesel engines and infrastructure. Its use has been proven to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by over 40–90% over the product's entire life cycle when compared to fossil diesel.
Neste's traditional refineries are located in Porvoo and Naantali, Finland, and have a combined crude oil refining capacity of approx. 260,000 barrels per day. The company also has renewable fuel plants in Singapore and Rotterdam, Holland. Neste Oil's combined renewable fuel production capacity is 2 million t/a.

Toyota Motor Europe NV/SA (TME) oversees the wholesale sales and marketing of Toyota and Lexus vehicles, parts and accessories, and Toyota European manufacturing and engineering operations. TME has operations in 17 countries with nine manufacturing plants, nine vehicle logistics centres and 14 parts distribution centres. Toyota committed to lead the way to the future of mobility, enriching lives around the world with the safest and most responsible ways of moving people.
Toyota believes that paraffinic fuels are one option to reach sustainable mobility. Toyota has been involved in several demonstration projects worldwide testing both passenger cars and heavy duty applications. These projects demonstrated the environmental benefit of using paraffinic fuelsl by lowering tailpipe emissions.. In 2008 Toyota joined other ASFE members and contributed to the publication of a voluntary CEN industry standard for paraffinic diesel.
